The swimming pool season is just around the corner and I bet you can’t wait to go swimming either. We have had a lot of snow on the east coast this year and I know that everyone is ready to open up their pools and get to swimming.
One of the big chores of the spring is opening the pool. Most people don’t have a physical problem getting the cover off and starting the system, the real problem occurs when they see the color of the swimming pool. It’s going to take a ton of chemicals to make it clear again.
We here at Swim University would like to share some tips with you:
- Relax – Clearing your swimming pool is easy to do with SwimUniversity.com by your side
- Always have a friend by to help you open your swimming pool
- Open your pool while it’s still cooler out. Opening your pool late can we worse for algae growth
- Be prepared for your opening before you start
- Once you are opened. Run your filter system until it’s clear (if needed)
- Get your pool water tested right away
- Stick to one source for your swimming pool care information. Whether it’s us or a local pool store. You could get different advice from different sources and each one will set you back more and more.
- Shock is your best friend, use it!
- Clean your swimming pool cover before storing it.
- Buy a tupperware container to store your pool cover for the summer. It will last you a lot longer
