As the months become warmer, there is nothing better than attending a pool party, especially when it’s in your own backyard. While a pool can certainly be enjoyed with simple items such as inflatable rafts, when planning a pool party for friends and neighbors, spending a bit of time prior to the event will increase the overall enjoyment all guests experience while at your home.

Here are 5 ways to ensure success at your next pool party:

Provide Refreshing Beverages

When it is warm outside, it is critical for guests to have access to cool, refreshing beverages, not only for their enjoyment, but so they remain hydrated in the heat. As you prepare your pool party’s beverage menu, be sure to consider the ages of your guests, the time of day the event is occurring and the duration of the event. This will help to create your list of items to purchase. For instance, if the majority of your guests will be children, you need to provide a variety of “child friendly” beverage choices. A quick beverage tip; it is better to over purchase, than to run out. So be sure to plan accordingly prior to heading to the grocery store.

Provide Ample Seating

When your guests aren’t enjoying the pool, they will be searching for comfortable places to sit, relax or catch some sun. Your KingsleyBate furniture, pool chairs, outside storage benches topped with comfortable cushions and/or outdoor dining tables should be available for use. If you are worried about providing ample seating, consider keeping a few extra folding/lawn chairs on hand nearby just in case you run out.

Provide Snacks

During a pool party, it is natural for guests to work up an appetite. Depending upon the time of day, plan to offer food items that are easy to prepare, stand up well in the heat and are refreshing. Keep in mind that anything requiring refrigeration may not be suitable for your pool party, unless you have plenty of coolers with ice available.

Have Pool Toys/Accessories Available

Adults and children alike enjoy playing in the pool with toys or accessories. Rafts, diving toys and floating devices will be well received if available during your pool party.

Provide Shade Options

Most people attending your pool party will desire to be in the sun as much as possible. However, some party goers may prefer to sit back and observe pool activities while sitting in the shade. To accommodate, offer some seating options with a view of the pool that are out of the sun.

By keeping these 5 simple tips in mind when planning your pool party, you will create an event that is sure to be enjoyed by all who attend.
