The folks over at Hidden Water Pools have come up with something that is truly unique and amazing. A hidden swimming pool! Not just a giant cover thrown over a swimming pool to conceal it, but one that is actually hidden.

How Do They Work?

You can see in the videos below that the hidden swimming pool starts off as a solid surface that you can walk on. Sort of like a patio. Then with a flip of the switch or a click of a button (assuming), the patio-like top gives way to reveal a swimming pool.

There are spaces within the patio to allow the water to seep through as it descends and eventually becomes the pool floor.

The Benefits of Having A Hidden Pool

Some of the benefits talked about in the video are worth noting.

  • No more wasted space when the pool is not being used. It doubles as a patio!
  • Less energy use. Because it’s a pool cover, you will use less energy because you won’t have to heat the pool as much. The cover keeps heat evaporation from taking place.
  • Less chemicals. Again, the pool cover keeps the chemicals from being used up by the sun. The sun can burn 1ppm of unstablized chlorine every hour!
  • SAFE! When you are not using the pool, there will no longer be an open body of water in your yard that can lead to drowning if not supervised.
