This is the year of the solar powered swimming pool. I have a feeling a lot of wealthy earth-conscience homeowners are going to install solar power on their house that will not only power their homes, but their pools.
Of course if you are like me and the millions of other other non-wealthy earth-conscience people but still wan to do your part, then just invest in a solar cover. Better yet invest in a liquid solar cover. Solar covers will be the hip new way to heat your swimming pool this year. The reason is because gas prices are so high (duh!) that people are going to look for alternatives, such as pool heat pumps.
If you already own a swimming pool heater, then you should still invest in some type of solar cover. Using a gas heater or heat pump along with a solar cover will drastically reduce your gas and electric bill. Lets think about it this way, you heat up your coffee in the morning and you put it in a thermos to keep it warm all day. The same goes for your swimming pool. You heat your swimming pool up in the morning using your gas heater and you cover your pool using the solar cover to keep it warm all day. The solar cover keeps in the heat in your pool much like a thermos.
So let’s all do our part this year and buy solar pool covers or use the one we’ve been hiding in our sheds and go green! With money!
