
Swimmer’s earĀ (also called otitis externa) can be a painful result of swimming, showering or taking a bath. It’s called swimmer’s ear because of this condition commonly occurs during swimming more than showering. Also, everyone can be subjected to it kids and adults alike but it occurs more with small children than it does with adults.
Some of the causes of swimmer’s ear can be excessive amounts of water entering the ear during swimming, chemicals such as chlorine or bromine can disrupt the ear canal and using a cotton swab cause also cause this. From there you could experience ear pain and discomfort.
To help combat swimmer’s ear you could simply apply heat to the ear to help bring down the swelling. Rest you head on a heating pad is a good trick. You could also take some pain medication but it is always wise to talk to your doctor before using any type of over the counter medications since it could be more serious.
