Pool chemicals help us manage our algae problems, keep our water sanitized and our swimmers safe. Where would we be without pool chemicals?

At the beginning of every pool season, I always mention starting up the pool early or buying chemicals early. I think it’s a tip that warrants repeating.

This should wipe out the algae problem after the first try and may allow you to maintain the normal life expectancy of your pool filter.

There are things that I start on early, some of which even have a positive impact on my pool. So here is my pool opening plan.

Chlorine stabilizer or Cyanuric acid is a chemical that protects the sun from eating up the chlorine you put in your pool.

I was also told that the levels of chemicals had gotten out of balance and the only possible way to re-balance was to replace the water.
