Weekend Outlook: Why Is It Still So Freaking Cold?

Crusing Through Pool Care The Wise Way

Get Now

Spring was just this past Sunday, and normally I’m all like, “heck yea it’s spring and it’s warm now.” However, this is not the case this year. This past weekend it was a cool 70 degrees here in New Jersey. Today… it’s f***ing snowed! SNOWED!

Now, for the rest of this weekend it’s gonna be in the 40′s. For most people this is a huge bummer. For me, it’s okay because I actually like the cold weather. I have to go to a Philadelphia Union game this Saturday and let me tell you, it’s much better than sweating in 100 degree weather in the middle of the summer (which I did a bunch of times last year).  I know that this sets back the thought on swimming pools and getting them opened, but we have to power through these tough times (climately speaking).

I just posted a short article about buying your pool chemicals early. And even though it’s cold and it’s hard to think about opening your pool for the season, it’s still a good move on your part (especially if you want to save some money).

Perhaps you don’t live in the northeast like I do. Perhaps you live in a place where it’s always warm or it gets warm early. This blog post probably doesn’t mean anything to you and you probably know that I’m sitting here right now hating you. Okay, hate is a strong word. I am envious of you.

I did my winter time blues. I like to snowboard, sure, but that doesn’t get to happen every single day. Not unless you live on a mountain with lifts and trails (which I don’t). I dealt with all the snow, I shoveled a lot of snow, paid a lot of money to have a landscaping company shovel the snow in front of my house. I have lived through these hardships. Now, Mother Nature, it’s your time to live up to your end of the bargain. And don’t tease me with these 70 degree days in March and ridiculously sunny (not a cloud in the sky) weekends. It’s hurtful and, quite frankly, immature.

So, bring on Spring!!!

I should trademark before Donald Trump or Paris Hilton gets to it.
