How To Clear A Cloudy Swimming Pool Overnight
A chemical called Floc or Flocculant is sometimes a good idea if you are in a rush. Lets say you have a pool party tomorrow and your pool is cloudy. But this method is very time consuming and difficult. The idea here is the Floc gathers all the particles that are making your water cloudy and sends them to the bottom of your pool creating a huge cloud. At this point you will need to manually vacuum up that cloud through your filter waste option or backwash port. Again it is difficult and a lot of water is wasted but it will clear your pool in one day. It's a very simple process
How To Floc Your Swimming Pool
1. Turn on your swimming pool filter and let the water circulate (if you have a sand filter move the handle to "recirculate")
2. Add the correct amount of floc for the amount of gallons in your pool and let the floc chemical circulate for up to 2 hours
3. After circulating the floc for two hours shut your pool filter off and let your pool sit still over night. During this process the floc chemical has gathered all the particles in your water that are making it cloudy and green and dragging them to the bottom. When you wake up you will see that all the cloudy or green water has settled to the bottom of your pool
4. Now it's time to remove all the settled debris. At this time you must use your manual pool vacuum cleaner (do not use an automatic pool cleaner)
5. Make sure your that when you vacuum the debris off the bottom of your pool you use the waste setting on your sand filter or unplug the drain plug on your DE or cartridge filter. Take your time and continue to refill your pool with fresh water as you will lose a lot.
