Pool Vacuum

A pool vacuum is a device that allows you to clean the bottom of your pool easily. There are two types of pool vacuums to choose from. You can vacuum your pool manually with a manual vacuum or an automatic pool vacuum.

Manual Pool Vacuum

A manual pool vacuum consist of a vac head, telescopic pole (also used for a skimmer head and brush) and a vacuum hose. The idea here is to use the suction power of the filter to vacuum the bottom of your swimming pool.

You attached the vac head to the telescopic pole and the vacuum hose to the top of the vac head. The other end of your vacuum hose is installed in your skimmer by using a skimmer vac plate or just sticking the end of the hose in the bottom of your skimmer below where the basket would be. This will create a siphon of water up through the vac head into the hose and through your filter system.

Automatic Pool Vacuum

An automatic pool vacuum can work three ways. One using the suction of the filter system like a manual vac. Two by using the water that is being pushed back into your pool, there are called pressure-side cleaners and an electronic automatic pool vacuum. Robotic Pool Cleaners use electricity to power a motor inside a self-contained cleaner and sucks debris off the bottom of the pool into a bag that you can empty.
